TIANMU TEACUPS

烏金釉降香紅花梨木側把壺~!

Tianmu teacups originated from Song Dynasty, located in Jianyang Kiln which was near the Tianmu mountain, the junction of Fujian and Zhejiang . The so-called oil droplets means that there are oil droplets in different shapes and sizes , look like floating on the water , in the colors of silver-gray or iron-brown with metallic luster dotted in the black glaze. It is so named of this. It was also called "Star light” in Song Dynasty due to it is like the shining stars at night. Firing the glaze, the formation of oil droplets is due to the period time of the firing, the oxide of the iron accumulation in the growing bubbles, at the high temperature above 1200 degrees celcius. When the bubbles grow to a certain extent, crystallize out from the form of hematite and magnetite and formed the shape like the crater. Then it become flat again, and turns to oil droplet-shaped crystals. This glaze, as high iron content, will produce magnetization at high temperature, resulting in trace minerals. It makes the water in the teacup softened and eliminates the astringent, so the water turns into sweeter and milder. It will also make it smoother and tastier if use it for hard drinks.

ICED TEA

ICED TEA

I still prefer hot tea than cold tea. No doubts some believe that tea of any temperature is great for the body. This means that iced tea is still as healthy as the regular hot tea.

However, I do agree that at times it is due to the practicability of the situation you are in. At times, I do admit that I too enjoy iced tea as well especially when I feel the weather is dry and hot. The above photo shows the drink I had recently at one of the cafe and I truly enjoyed it. I must say that this is a great relief to me just like many people who prefer drinking iced tea to hot tea, particularly during summer season.

Before I pen off, it is not a bad idea to embrace unlimited beliefs so as to open to all possibilities. After all, you tend to gain more exactly as prescribed, the more the merrier.

That's all and stay tune for more exciting articles.

INDIAN TEA PRICE CONTINUE TO RISE

TEA PRICE CONTINUE TO RISE

We write to draw the special attention of you, especially those Indian tea lovers,

The Indian tea industry is witnessing a continuous rise in price, owing to the growing consumption demand and a shortfall in production. May someone tell us more about the main reason as to why there is a rise in tea consumption?

Simultaneously, with a significant dip in global production, especially in Kenya, the Indian tea companies fetched attractive prices on the export front. In this connection, appreciate if someone could tell us the main reason that cause the dip in global production.

India produced 988.3 million kilograms (mkg) of tea in 2011 (up by 2.3 per cent). As such, there is an urgent need to find out how India was able to outperform other nations.

Well done to India and hope they can keep up their performance.

SMALL CUP MAKES BIG DIFFERENCE

Small cup makes big difference

MAKING a cuppa to help raise money for cancer research is more important than ever for Coralyn Cowin. GOOD CAUSE: Coralyn Cowin, who is currently receiving chemotherapy, is holing a Biggest Morning Tea even in Logan Village to raise money for cancer research.

MAKING a cuppa to help raise money for cancer research is more important than ever for Coralyn Cowin.

The Logan Village resident is currently battling cancer for the fourth time.

She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997, and since then, has undergone many surgeries and gruelling chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Ms Cowin said her first cancer diagnosis came with mixed emotions.

"I was one of those people who felt something was wrong and I feared the worst," Ms Cowin said.

"When my fears were confirmed I was shocked, even though I was partly expecting it.

"But I was mostly pleased the doctors found the cancer early so they could do something about it."

Ms Cowin underwent four lumpectomy procedures to remove the tumour in one of her breasts.

But in 2001, Ms Cowin once again received the devastating news that another lump had been found in her breast and underwent more surgery to remove the tumour.

Then in 2008, she had a cancerous mole removed from her back.
She tried to continue on with life as usual but was again shocked when she learned she had breast cancer for the third time in December last year.

Within weeks of the diagnosis, Ms Cowin had the affected breast removed completely, with her remaining breast to be removed within the next couple of months.

After more than 15 years of battling cancer, Ms Cowin has decided she will host her own Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds for the Queensland Cancer Council.

"You can't just lie down and let it get the better of you," she said.
"You have to be positive.

"There are definitely people out there worse off than me, and I can still help people, so that's what I'm doing."
Ms Cowin will be hosting her Biggest Morning Tea at the Logan Village Green on Wharf St, Logan Village, on Wednesday, May 30 from 10am.

Entry is $10 which includes morning tea, treats and coffee.
There will also be raffles, a mini cent auction, lucky door prizes and craft stalls featuring items made personally by Ms Cowin while she was undergoing treatment.

If you would like to donate to the Cancer Council, or hold your own morning tea, you can call 1300 65 65 85 or log onto www.biggestmorningtea.com.au.

3 T'S TEA BREWING

3 T's TEA BREWING
Dear Tea buddies,
I am sure some of you surely want to have a perfect cup of tea, right. Today, I am going to share with you the 3T's of tea brewing skills.
1st. T = have right amount of Tea,
2nd T = infusion Time and
3rd T = Temperature.

Needless to say that these 3 Ts are very much dependent on the type of tea you brew.

However, the tea ceremony, in general, should be fluent and every step of action should not be noticeable, like walking or swimming. Every act needs to be natural as possible, just like any masterpiece of art. Every brush counts. That's the reason it is called as "tea arts".
It is meant for your enjoyment to please our minds and souls, so to speak.

I urge you to make time to savor tea whenever you have time to do so. Tell us your experience and we love to hear from you, my dearest friends.

Bear mindful that everyone has their own preferences for

brewing techniques. There is nothing wrong with brewing

your cup in any way you please. Tea is of

course, among other things, a very personal experience

Stay tune and look forward to hearing and seeing you again.

SCENT CUP (AROMA CUP)

SCENT CUP (AROMA CUP)

A scent cup(aroma cup) is design for appreciating the smell of hot tea. To have its maximum effect, first pour boiled tea into the scent cup before pouring it into the drinking cup. Thereafter, smell the empty scent cup before you drink the tea from the other drinking cup.

Please try it out and share your experience with us. We, of course love to hear from you whether you are a virgin tea drinker or not. To us, it does not matter when you begin, what matters to us is when you finish.

To have much more fun, you may choose to flip the cups over, and then remove the aroma cup from the tasting cup. It also seems that pouring from the aroma cup into the tasting cup dissipates more of the scent. Try it yourself and tell us the differences you have experienced.

Is there any other way you may like to share with us? If yes, please make use of the comment column provided below. Alternatively, you may email to me at jamesoh2003@yahoo.co.uk.

Trust you find it useful besides entertaining. Make sure you spread the word to your friends.  Don't forget to leave your comments...thanks for the support. Hope you guys enjoy.

Stay tune and we have more exciting articles for you.

TEA THAT MELTS FAT

I received this mail from the author below and SHARE with you with the hope that you too benefited from it.

Dear James,
Have you ever noticed how you feel a little hot and sweaty after eating a big meal?
Well, there’s more to it than just having a full stomach. When you eat, your body creates heat and energy. It’s called “diet-induced thermogenesis.”

Here’s how it works…

When you eat certain foods, the level of insulin in your body increases. And this creates energy and heat. As your body temperature goes up, your metabolism starts to kick into high gear. That’s when you start using the fat in your cells for energy.

The higher the thermic effect of the foods you eat, the easier it will be to get rid of any excess fat. Proteins are great for producing a high thermic effect. They take longer to process in your body and create more heat. But fat, on the other hand, is easily processed by your body and produces very little thermic effect.

The problem is, the common “diet” in our modern world is full of processed foods with little protein, so it can be difficult to trigger thermogenesis with the foods you eat alone.

A simple and quick way to activate thermogenesis is by drinking good old-fashioned tea. And there’s a certain type of tea that stands out from the rest when it comes to helping you melt away excess fat.

It’s called oolong tea.

The best way I can describe oolong tea is halfway between green and black teas. And while it may not be in a class of its own, oolong tea is the best of both worlds because you get the benefits of both.

When green tea is made, the tea leaves are dried, but still kept whole. And because of this technique, the leaves hold on to powerful antioxidants called catechins. The catechin in green tea is called EGCG. And EGCG is what helps your body trigger your internal thermogenesis switch to help your body heat up and melt fat for energy.1

Black tea is produced in a different way. The leaves are dried but then they are crushed up, which produces lots of different antioxidants called flavonoids. These antioxidants work in a different way to help you lose excess fat.

The catechins in green tea help you melt fat, but the flavonoids in black tea help you keep it off. Numerous studies show that these powerful antioxidants help block starches from being absorbed into your body.2,3 And if the starches aren’t absorbed, they can’t turn into fat.

Oolong tea falls somewhere in the middle of the two.
The leaves of oolong tea aren’t whole and they aren’t crushed, either... they’re bruised. This method of preparation enables it to hold on to both the EGCGs of green tea and the flavonoids of black tea for a double attack on your fat cells.

So not only will you trigger thermogenesis, you’ll also be working to keep the starches from turning to fat in your body.

One of the highest quality oolong teas I’ve found is called Wu-Long. The leaves come from extraordinarily rare plants produced at Mt. Wu Yi Shan in southeast China. It’s got a very dark, rich coloring to it.

The good thing is you can get Wu-Long in capsule form as well as in tea form. While I love a good cup of tea, the capsules are great if you’re on-the-go or don’t feel like brewing a cup.

Plus, I made an arrangement for you to get free shipping on your entire order. Click here to try it for yourself.

LADY GAGA'S TEACUP FETCHES $75,300

Lady Gaga teacup fetches $75,300 in Japan auction
TOKYO — A teacup and saucer used only once by pop diva Lady Gaga has sold for more than 6.0 million yen ($75,000) at auction, the sale's organiser said Monday.

With more than 1,300 bids, the week-long auction finished at 1400 GMT Sunday, with a top offer of 6,011,000 yen, said Yahoo! Japan, which managed the charity event.

Payment was required before the winning bid could be confirmed, it said.

The cup was used by Lady Gaga at a press conference in Tokyo three months after the massive tsunami of March last year swamped a large stretch of coastline.

Lady Gaga told reporters at the time that she would auction the cup, marked with her lipstick and bearing the Japanese message "We pray for Japan" along with the star's autograph.
All the money raised will be used to help young Japanese artists who want to study in the United States.

The teacup was one of a number of items being sold to raise money for those affected by Japan's worst post-war calamity, and was the second most expensive lot.

The top-priced item was a Kawai crystal piano used by Yoshiki of rock band Japan X, which went for 11,001,000 yen, Yahoo! Japan said.

The natural disaster killed some 19,000 people on Japan's northeast coast and sparked the world's worst nuclear accident since the 1986 Chernobyl disaster, leading to a plunge in visitors to the country.

Lady Gaga visited Japan twice after the disaster and called on tourists from around the world to follow suit.

The songstress is due back in Japan this week as part of an Asian tour.
